Information: Dorcadion was first mentioned in the literature in 1946 as an form unidiscale for Dorcadion (Dorcadion (Pedestredorcadion) Matthieseni m. Unidiscale Breuning).
Danilevsky elevated this form to subspecies D. globithorax and later (1996) to a separate species, Dorcadion (Acutodorcadion) unidiscale.
Dorcadion unidiscale, an endemic species to South-Eeastern Kazakhstan, is known from only a single population that is distributed in the Kaskelen river valley on the northern slopes of the Trans-Ili Mountains.
Body length: 16 - 23 mm
Peak activity: May - June
Remarks: Dorcadion unidiscale, occurs together with the rare D. grande in the Kaskelen area on the northern slopes of the Trans-Ili Mountains. Dorcadion unidiscale is abundant and survives in small area due to anthropogenic habitat conversion. In the locality, the species is active in warm weather, already at the beginning of May.
