Dorcadion (Acutodorcadion) grande Jakovlev, 1906

ℹ  Information: Dorcadion grande, belongs to the largest species of Dorcadion. A rare endemic species from south-eastern Kazakhstan, which occurs only in the Zailjisky Alatau Mountains. It was described in the former Semirechy region (Kazakhstan) as Dorcadion (Compsodorcadion) grande by Jakovlev in 1906.

Body length: 15 - 30 mm
Peak activity: May - June

⚠  Remarks: Dorcadion grande, which occurs together with D. unidiscale  in the Kaskelen area on the northern slopes of the Trans-Ili Mountains. Dorcadion grande survives in small areas thanks to the anthropogenic transformation of their habitats. Males are active in warm weather, especially in the second half of May. Females are less active and usually staying under plants.
