Titoceres arabicus (Breuning, 1962)

[= Paratitoceres arabicus (Breuning, 196)]

ℹ  Information: Titoceres arabicus is a beautiful and rare species found strictly in the south of the Arabian Peninsula. It was described by Breuning as Paratitoceres arabicus from the Yemen Sanna only in 1962. The holotype was already caught in 1938 during Scott & Britton's expedition to Arabia.
[Probably the specimens of T. jaspideus recorded from southern Yemen (GESTRO 1889) belong to T. arabicus.  (Holzschuh, 1991)]

Body length:  17 - 35 mm
Peak activity: March - November (depends on region)

⚠  Remarks: Titoceres arabicus, I have repeatedly collected Dhofar province only during the dormant season, when all vegetation is without leaves, everything is dry and high temperatures even at night. They are often enticing to a light trap.
This is the first record for Oman.
