Information: The subspecies chaudoiri was described by Raffray in 1882 from Ethiopia [reference given: 'Abyssinia (Bogos)' is an area in present-day Eritrea]. The subspecies is found only in the territory of Ethiopia (in the province of Oromia and Harari) and Eritrea.
Body length: 40 - 44 mm
Remarks: A locally occurring subspecies in Ethiopia, it prefers the scrubby dry savannas of the plateaus. The area is often covered with sparse vegetation, consisting of thorn bushes, acacias and grasses, which are typical of the semi-arid area and are well adapted to the extreme conditions.
