Stuhlmannium mirabile Kolbe, 1894

ℹ  Information: Stuhlmannium mirabile, is a very rare and bizarre species. It was described by Kolbe in 1894 from Lake Victoria of Kafuro (Karague) Tanzania. The large species has a very corpulent body of shiny black color. There are only a few specimens in the collections and they are collected very rarely.  

Body length: 43 - 46 mm
Peak activity: November ~ April

⚠  Remarks: An unmistakable species by its shape, its size or its peculiar movement. The habitats of this species are large grassy areas and seasonal swamps. Active at night during the rainy season.
