Information: Parochodaeus carinatus, was originally described as Ochodaeus carinatus Benderitter in 1913 from the locality "Obock" (nowadays approx. Djibouti).
The species inhabits dry savannas and semi-desert areas with sparser vegetation of trees and shrubs. He is often attracted to a light trap.
Body length: 4 - 6 mm
Peak activity: May, August - October
Remarks: In Oman, it occurs rarely in a few localities with sufficient grasses. This is the first record for Oman.
