Kabatekiipsebium yemenensis Rapuzzi, 2015

ℹ  Information: Kabatekiipsebium yemenensis, is a bizarre small Cerambycid of the tribe Psebiini endemic to the southern Arabian Peninsula. It was described from Oman and Yemen by Rapuzzi in 2015. The species is also characterized by marked sexual dimorphism.
The larvae of Kabatekiipsebium yemenensis develop in the wood of Fabaceae (Vachellia spp., Prosopis cineraria) and the nocturnal adults may be attracted to light.

Body length: 4 - 6 mm
Peak activity: August - September (October)

⚠  Remarks: A very rare, small species of longhorn beetle, which has mostly been preserved from imported wood. It is found only in a small area in the Dhofar province (Oman) and the neighboring Hawf region (Yemen).
