Information: Codocera ferruginea, is a widespread rare species that was originally described as Lethrus ferrugineus by Eschscholtz in 1818. The species has an oval body, sandy yellow to rusty color. The whole body is covered with long light hairs, which are longest on the sides of the body. Rafters with grooves, limbs with prominent teeth. Males have significantly enlarged mandibles.

Remarks: Very rare habitat-bound species mainly on steppe loess localities, less often on habitats with a sandy substrate. It flies after sunset in the summer months.
